Half Dome – Yosemite Musing
With the sharp influx of new readers, I wanted to tell the newbies about this blog. As the self-anointed “Mr. Half Dome” with 23 summits under my belt I have a noggin full of facts, figures and trivia. I written theisblog every day for over 2 years except when I am camping and nowhere near a computer or when I am on cruise ship lecturing (.75/minute internet). The web engine is Yahoo Sitebuilder and has some quirks. Yahoo gives me the “deer in headlights” response when I try to get them fixed. With the business climate being what it is, I only hope they don’t drop this off their plate. Comments to my blogs are welcome. The software that validates “human” entries is often hard to read! Once you figure it out, you can type in the letters in lower case. Despite entering your name, it seems to display “anonymous.” Also, you can read historical blogs by clicking “previous.” For some reason down towards the bottom, the background changes from light blue to darker blue, making it hard to read. Oh well. You will notice that I do not pester you with Google Ads or other promotions. This is a self-funded enterprise that is linked to my book’s website. Another fun thing I do is enter lyrics from songs that will perk you up. Occasionally I put a John Muir quote to stick to the theme. Enjoy and Carpe Diem! By the way, the Glacier Point Road is now open.Hwy 120 still being plowed.
Unrelated thought worth quoting: “Like a true nature's child. We were born, born to be wild. We can climb so high I never wanna die.” – Steppenwolf
